Day One
Arrive to our Isle of Palms home (just a block from the beach!) mid afternoon. We'll start our time by getting to know one another over an arrival cocktail party and starting to dive into in-home family photography education!
retreat breakdown:
Day Two
We'll start our day with our first in-home styled shoot at a nearby family's gorgeous home! In the afternoon, we'll have continued in-home family education, one-on-one time with Morgan as well as time to get updated headshots before dinner.
Day Three
Day Three will start with our second styled in-home family session in our (window-filled and beautiful) AirBnB! After the session, we'll have an hour of Q&A time before we say our goodbyes midday!

One day I came across family images that spoke to my soul, and I suddenly realized what family photography could be. They were images taken in-home and they felt so much like family to me. And it was then that I knew that I wanted to create family images that were different - images that spoke to the heart of what family is; images where my presence wasn't felt. And now? I get to show you how to do the same!
I was so uninspired by family photography.
I avoided photographing families for a long time - partially because the images I saw that represented family photography weren't inspiring to me. Whether they were meant to look candid or not, I could always sense the photographer's presence there.
Once I figured out the kind of family photos I wanted to create - comfortable, raw, fun images at home - I became so inspired. Through time, trial and error, I've created a system to create these images at every in-home session. And now, I leave every session feeling so alive and on fire for what I do.

Connection Creation at home is an in-home family photography retreat where we'll stay together for three days and two nights and photograph two in-home family sessions. I'll spill out literally all of the knowledge I have over the course of our time together, and you'll leave with some serious confidence in your ability to photograph in-home sessions and some incredible portfolio images to share wherever you please!
Where is the nearest airport?
The nearest airport is Charleston International Airport, which is about 30 minutes away. All attendees will be part of a Facebook group where you'll be able to connect before the retreat. I recommend finding another photographer flying in and splitting an Uber to the house!

Do I need to have knowledge of in-home family photography to attend?
Not at all! All you need is a camera, an openness to learning and a desire to create soulful, emotive images inside your clients' homes. I'll teach you everything else you need to know!
How is this different from other family photography retreats or workshops?
I GET IT. There's a lot of education out there. What makes this retreat different is that it's focused exclusively on in-home family photos and how to document your clients' most authentic selves, bonds and relationships within that space - in a beautiful and consistent way. In-home family photography is incredibly moving and beautiful, but the technical aspects of it hinder a lot of photographers from seeing their dreams come to fruition. We're going to break down all of it, because like I said - we're focusing exclusively on in-home family photography. This means we can dive deep.
What is included in the cost?
Your lodging for two nights, all meals and drinks, two styled in-home family sessions and portfolio images from them, 2.5 days of in-home family photography education, a one-on-one mentoring session with Morgan, updated headshots, eight new photographer besties and so much more!
